The Retired Friends Club History

The Retired Men's Club of Greendale was founded in 1952 when ten men who worked at Norton Company went out for coffee. This core group of men began working on starting a club for retirees. By the fall there were 66 charter members and the Retired Men's Club of Greendale was born.
Although it's now open to all men & women over 60 and those who have retired, it's still proudly associated with Saint-Gobain, which acquired Norton, and the YMCA's Greendale branch, which was built on land donated by Norton. The name was changed in 2023 to The Retired Friends Club of Greendale to reflect it’s new organization.
